What We Do
Freedom From Violence
All children have the right to live and grow up in a freedom and safe environment. Poverty and injustice are caused by war, trafficking, violence, exploitation, abuse & inequality that have severely threatened millions of children and youths to live in fear of danger and harm.
In this program EHR in Trans-nzoia, Kenya strive to give children freedom from violence & exploitation by providing rescue and reintegration services including guiding & counseling, legal assistance to ensure children rights to education and health care- reaching out to conduct prevention training and advocacy activities, addressing the unique needs of survivors and at risk children i.e. girls, refugees, child labors and trafficked children.
Many people have lost life due to ethnic /community violence, war, family /marriage conflicts and HIV/AIDS have always left many children /orphans and homeless, painfully struggling in poverty and injustice which increases the number of orphan children in the communities.
It is so sad that wars, trafficking, ethnic/community violence, and abuse have threatened millions of children& youth to live in fear of danger and harm, while all children have the right to live and grow up in a freedom and safe environment.
Poverty and injustice adversely uproot many children and youth from their homes and families especially those children and youth who live outside of mainstream society are the most at risk of violence & exploitation. They are always overlooked when their physical and psycho-social well being is threatened and often socio – customs support ignorance to their distress.
EHR is dedicated to stop violence and exploitation against children and youth in trans-Nzoia Kenya and help young survivors restore and rebuild their lives so that they live in safety ,peace and dignity by providing-
- Protection and holistic care to trafficked children, migrants and refugees, child laborers and survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation.
- Work to ensure children’s legal identities which are a critical step toward ensuring children’s safety and access to social services.
- We also prevent future abuses by educating the public and compacting harmful social- customs and practices. This means we contribute to a growing movement that will never accept anything than safety and security for every child by pushing for better policies and laws to passionately protect children and youth.
