Youth Empowerment

What We Do

Youth Empowerment

Most regions of Kenya face many economic challenges that are adversely affecting its population, these include financial crisis being experienced across developing countries, increased unemployment for youth, high cost of living, change of climate which threatens food security, especially for disadvantaged and marginalized families where children and youth are the most affected.

High rate of unemployment affect a large number of youth in Trans-Nzoia Kenya, even though the few youth are working but that alone cannot raise the economy or make others be financially literate in the society due to high level of poverty.

We equip youth with the skills and knowledge they need to lead lives of dignity, purpose and economic stability. Our approach involves engaging vulnerable and disadvantaged children& youth, also the least likely to have access to mainstream education and training including boys&girls and youth with disabilities as well as  those youth engaged in hazardous jobs, thus preparing them to shape their own futures, advance their rights, lead health and productive lives and be transformed into a source of innovation, opportunity and social change to others in the society by providing-Vocational skills training, Social economic empowerment /entrepreneurship and basic business skills.

Vocational Skills Training

These include ICT /Computer training, tailoring, hair dressing/saloon, wood work, metal work training, mechanics and electronic engineering. This is to enable the youth to secure employment around them or have their own self-employment and also create more income and employment opportunities for others in the community.

Socio –Economic Empowerment/ Entrepreneurship & Basic Business Skills

In this section we empower youth through economic project activities this include sustainable agriculture project activities i.e. poultry keeping project ,fish rearing project , livestock  , crop farming as well as introducing them to basic business skills and socio entrepreneur to enable youth gain a meaningful income to grow economically and also create more employment opportunities for others in the community.
